Gouda cheese is mainly intended for direct consumption as a snack and as an ingredient in sandwiches, salads, toast, burgers and tortillas. It is suitable for shredding, grating and slicing. It is a valuable ingredient in the production of high quality ready meals and snacks such as pizzas, cheese-based sauces and dips, soup premixes, flavored crackers and French fries. Gouda cheese is also used in the confectionery and bakery segments, where its melting ability is sought after.

Description

Gouda is a (semi)hard, ripened cheese. It is sold as a block or cube wrapped in yellow or red foil. Gouda cheese has a mild and delicate taste. It is made from cow’s milk. The production process of Gouda includes coagulation with rennet, removal of whey and lactose, cooking, salting and molding. The ripening process of the cheese lasts from 4 weeks to more than a year, depending on the expected final product.

Gouda cheese provides protein and nutrients such as calcium, phosphorus and vitamins. We can also offer a low-salt Gouda with a more savory taste.
