Description
Cheddar cheese is usually yellow-orange/ivory in color, but Salsal Trading S.A. also supplies the white variety – without dyes or red. Cheddar is characterized by a sharp, slightly acidic and nutty flavor, but this can depend on the degree of ripeness. It is made from fresh cow’s milk by coagulating it with rennet to separate curds and whey. Later, the curd is salted and ground, then shaped and left to ripen. The ripening process lasts between 6 and 24 months.
