What is Mulberry Leaf Extract?

Mulberry leaf extract is made of mulberry leaf powder processed from the 1st ~ 3rd new leaves on mulberry branches at the late stage of spring silkworm rearing or before frost’s descent, dried in the shade, crushed, soaked with auxiliary materials and water respectively, and sprayed dry.
Deoxynojirimycin was obtained from the branches, leaves and roots of Morus alba L. by isolation and purification technology.
The extract contains mulberry leaf flavonoids, mulberry leaf polyphenols, mulberry leaf polysaccharides, DNJ, GABA and other physiological active substances.

DNJ is a natural alkaloid found in mulberry trees. The DNJ in mulberry is mainly distributed in the leaves, roots, and branches of mulberry, and the content of DNJ in mulberry leaves is relatively high (about one-thousandth of the dry weight). Moreover, mulberry leaves account for the largest proportion of the dry matter of the entire mulberry tree, about 65%. Therefore, mulberry leaves are the main source of raw materials for us to extract natural DNJ.
