Description

Sucrose, also known as white sugar or table sugar, occurs in the form of white homogeneous granulated crystals, without clumps or lumps, with a characteristic sweet smell and taste of sugar. It is obtained from sugar beets or sugar cane.

Sucrose dissolves well in water and, because of its sweet taste, is most often used as a functional ingredient – ​​a sweetener. It is also a readily available source of energy and is quite thermally stable. When heated to about 186°C, it decomposes and caramel is formed.

Properly stored sucrose has no shelf life. The product should be stored in a dry, cool place, protected from pests, at a temperature higher than 10°C.
